Blood, Sweat & Tears

February 1, 2008 through August 31, 2008

The College Football Hall of Fame introduces a new exhibit with an inspiring theme “Blood Sweat and Tears: The History of Black College Football.” Visitors to the College Football Hall of Fame can now experience the struggle, hard work, and triumph that African-Americans have undergone to prove themselves in not only the game of football, but also in this country.

Walk through a historic locker room filled with memorabilia representing all 50 Historic Black Colleges and Universities, black marching bands, black college All-American teams and black college national champions. The highlight of this exhibit is an interactive video game developed by Nerjyzed Game Studios called Black College Football - The Xperience. Visitors will be able to compete against one another in this unique world of black college football.

Another focus of this exhibit will be the impact of African Americans at white colleges and universities shedding some light on serious incidents of racism and prejudice that occurred during this time in history. Though some of these incidents are hard to forget, this exhibit also stresses the importance of moving forward, as well as the future of black college football.

Blood, Sweat, and Tears: The History of Black College Football” will be on exhibit at the College Football Hall of Fame from February 1, 2008 through August 31, 2008.
